Austria post will issue a postage stamp of Crucifix / Archabbey of St. Peter in Salzburg in the series of Religious Art in Austria.
Of the many voices that recognized the significance of the Crucifix by Jakob Adlhart for the renewal of Austrian sacred art in the Expressionist period, we quote that of the writer Josef August Lux (1871–1947): “The simple and monumental hall of the Benedictines is filled with the sacred shivering that overwhelms the pious observer at the sight of the famous larger-than-life crucifix, a work by the young artist Adlhart in Hallein.
