The Universal Israeli Alliance, international Jewish society with French origin was created in 1860. The Alliance functions in the field of education and Jewish culture, diffusing the traditional Judaism, tolerance and openness to the modern world and struggling for the equality of rights not only for Jewish people but for all the religious minorities. The UIA is based on the network of schools in France and abroad. Also by its activities the organization promotes French culture and language.

France celebrates 150th Anniversary of the Universal Israeli Alliance
France has issued a stamp dedicated to the French organization "Universal Israeli Alliance". On the image two schoolchildren write the word "learn" in Hebrew, Arab and French which symbolizes the value of the UIA.
