Youth Olympic Games 2010 – Lithuania

Lithuania post will issue a stamps commemorating the first Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010.
The Youth Olympic Games aim to inspire young people around the world to embrace and express the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect. 3600 young athletes between 14 and 18 years of age from 205 countries are expected to attend the Games. They will compete in 26 sports and take part in culture and education programmes. The participants of the first Youth Olympic Games will compete for 201 medals.

The representatives of Lithuania will participate in the competitions of basketball (3 on 3), athletics, swimming, rowing, judo, boxing, and modern pentathlon.
