St. Jude students attend ‘Stamp Camp’ workshops

The student body of St. Jude School recently attended mini workshops from Stamp Camp USA, a non-profit educational organization in partnership with the Northeast Postal Customer Council. The students participated in grade appropriate activities learning about bar codes, ZIP codes, sorting and the basics of stamp collecting, including how to hinge, mount and display their collection. Each class was also given a copy of The Postal Service Guide to U.S. Stamps with photos and information on stamps dating back to the mid-1800s and a 2008 Commemorative Stamp Yearbook. Some of the participants, from left, first row, are Hunter Piech, Rachel Black, Cameron Chalk, Zachary Kehoe and Millie Symbula. Second row: Linda Cox, Stamp Camp aid; Emily Mahler; Matthew Dean; and Cheryl Edgecomb, executive director and chief executive officer of Stamp Camp USA.
