The only known cover bearing a Poland No 1 10 Kop block of four starred at Warwick & Warwick:- A philatelic assortment regarded as the best collection of Kingdom of Poland stamps went under the Warwick and Warwick hammer on May 5.
Regarded as the very finest ever formed of The Kingdom of Poland, the collection of Vladimir von Rachmanoff (Wladimir Rachmonow in Polish) far exceeded the importance those formed by Philipp La Renotière von Ferrary, Agathon Fabergé or even M. A. Bojanowicz.
Highlights in the collection included the only known cover bearing a Poland No 1 10 Kop block of four - without a doubt one of the top rarities of Polish philately. This exceptional block of four sold for £35,075 including VAT and buyer's premium.

Elsewhere, another exceptional rarity was this the 10 Kopeck stationery envelope, uprated with the first stamp of Poland - known as one of the utmost gems of Polish philately.
According to experts, just five examples have been recorded; one of which has had the adhesive stamp removed by a postal clerk. This example hammered at £16,000, realising a final £18.975 with VAT and buyer's premium.
