Jammu & Kashmir Definitives March 23,1960. (1960-2)

The disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir was the subject of new definitive series. Four values were released projecting map of Pakistan, the State of Jammu & Kashmir and part of India. Two small states Junagarh and Manavadar were also located on the map. The area of Jammu & Kashmir region is shown colourless with inscription JAMMU/ & KASHMIR/(Final Status Not Yet Determined)\". Other elements of the stamps included country name in English at left top, and in Bengali and Urdu at right. The denominations of the four stamps are; 6 pies (purple), 2 anna (brown red), 8 anna (green) and Rupee 1 (blue), are shown at bottom left below the map.
Locally recessed stamps were used as definitives. Later some values were overprinted SERVICE for official use and the Re.1 value is also known printed on the gum side.

Third Pakistan Boy Scouts National Jamboree December 24, 1960. (1960-8)

The third National Jamboree of Pakistan Boy-Scouts will be held at Lahore from December 24 to 31, 1960. Scouts from a number of countries are participating in this jamboree.
Pakistan Posts and Telegraphs Department is issuing a commemorative postage stamp of the 2-anna denomination along with a First-Day Cover on this occasion. This postage stamp will be released for sale on and from the 24th December, 1960, salient features of the postage stamp are as follows;
The Commemoratives in question will be available for sale at all important Post Offices in Pakistan, the Philatelic Bureau, Karachi, Philatelic Counters at Lahore and Rawalpindi, and at certain Pakistan Diplomatic Missions abroad with effect from the 24th December 1960.

CAFEA-ICC (Karachi Session) Commemoration December 05, 1960. (1960-7)

In December’ 60, Karachi will be the venue of the International Business-men’s Conference and the Session of the Commission on Asian and Far Eastern Affairs of the International Chamber of Commerce. This has followed the election of Pakistan, by the 1959 Washington Congress of the International Chamber of Commerce, to the chairmanship of the Commission. Over 25 countries and a number of Government and Non-Government Organizations including the United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, l.L.O. etc. are expected to participate therein.
To mark this important event, Pakistan Posts & Telegraphs Department is issuing a Postage Stamp of l4—annas denomination on and from the 5th of December’ 60.

K. E. Medical College, Lahore, Centenary November 16, 1960. (1960-6)

The King Edward Medical College, Lahore is the oldest medical institution in Pakistan and is celebrating its centenary in November ‘60. This institution has played a very important role in the sphere of medical education in this subcontinent and has become internationally known in all fields of medical activities. Its centenary is a very significant milestone in the history of medical activities in the country.
To mark the Centenary celebrations, Posts and Telegraphs Department is issuing a set of two postage stamps of 2-anna and 14-anna denominations on and from the 16th November, 1960.
The College Insignia, appearing in the centre constitutes the motif of the postage stamps and is flanked, on the upper half, by the word “PAKISTAN” in Urdu and Bengali and, on the lower half, by the word “Centenary” and figures “1860-1960”, on the left and right -hand sides respectively. The Postage is indicat-ed at the bottom.

Revolution Day Commemoration October 27, 1960. (1960-5)

The military government celebrating its 2nd anniversary brought out two commemorative postage stamps on October 27, 1960. The designer tried to project on stamps, the three major departments of development; Rehabilitation in form of a single- room house, Land Reforms- view of the green fields and Basic Democracies-symbolized by a monument. This design is featured on both stamps in different colours. The 2a value is in brown, pink and green and the 14a in blue, yellow and green. The event is inscribed as \"REVOLUTION DAY/OCT 27, 1960\" printed below \"PAKISTAN” at the top center. Country name in Bengali and Urdu is placed under the monument. The face value is expressed at bottom left.

World Refugee Year April 07, 1960. (1960-3)

Refugees had been a global problem for the United Nations who, through its specialised agency UNHCR is taking cares of them in almost all continents.
To bring world attention towards the seriousness of the issue the U.N., has launched a worldwide campaign and declared \'1960\' as the World Refugee Year.
Pakistan in this regard has issued a set of two stamps on April 7, 1960. The basic design of the stamps was suggested by the United Nations, which shows a up-rooted tree- the symbol of world Refugee Year. \"HELP THE REFUGEES\". The slogan is printed in curved shape below the tree, date 1959-60 at bottom left and denomination 2a and l0a, at bottom right on each specimen. Tri-lingual “Pakistan” is printed at top where it is upright in English but in Bengali and Urdu it is diagonal on either side. The 2a stamp is in red and the l0a in green.

Armed Forces Day January 10, 1960 (1960-1)

Pakistan Post Office celebrating the Armed Forces Day released a set of two stamps on January 10,1960. De La Rue of London printed stamps, in lithography. Their motif shows the Inter Services Shield at the center in original colours; blue and red.
Bold inscription printed at base reads \"ARMED FORCES DAY\" and date \"JAN 1960\" below the caption. The denomination is printed at lower right of crest and country name at the top in two lines with English in first line and Bengali and Urdu below that in single line but spaced. All inscriptions are in reverse except country name. Stamps are in vertical format.
