The French Post has issued a stamp featuring the famous sight of the French city of Crest - its wooden bridge.
The wooden bridge of Crest on the river of Drome, the longest wooden bridge in France of nearly 100 m long, is an innovative solution in the timber construction of supporting structures. It has allowed the development of the north and south city, and participated in the revitalization of the timber industry, natural resource of the region. This innovative invention has been designed to meet the demand of environmental conditions. It was awarded with the 2001 Territoria Prize of the National Observatory of public innovation and with the Label "The Planet sais Thank You" introduced by the Ministry of Planning and Environment.
