The welfare stamps are traditionally issued by the German Post in favor of voluntary welfare. This year's recipient of the additional cents mentioned on the welfare stamps is the Federal Association of Voluntary Welfare, organization according relief to destitute people.
The welfare stamps of 2011 show four episodes of the well-known animated film about Loriot, a talking dog, and his owner Dr. Sommer. Although Loriot is a comedy, it shows real social conditions and human behavior, reflecting funny situations of viewers' everyday life.
