On January 01, 2010 Pakistan Post Office issued a set of four envelopes of Rs.8/- each.
In the end of 2009, Pakistan Post Office increased local postal rates from Rs.4/- to Rs.8/- and on January 01, 2010 Pakistan Post Office issued a set of four envelopes of Rs.8/- each. These four envelopes represent four provinces of Pakistan. Pictures of the followings locations are printed on these envelopes.
1-Picture of Minar-e-Pakistan is printed on one envelope which represents Punjab province.
2-Picture of tomb of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is printed on one envelope which represents SindhProvince.
3-Picture of Ziarat Residency is printed on one envelope which represents SarhadProvince.
4-Picture of Bab-e-Khyber is printed on one envelope which represents N.W.F.PProvince.
Pakistan Philatelic Association was established in 1949. The history of this Association is very remarkable; it has organized more than 30 national exhibitions. At these exhibitions, the postal department has issued special cancellations and stamps each time. When it comes to organizing exhibitions, PPA is the oldest and the most active association in Pakistan. It has played the biggest role in promoting philately.
